Looking ahead to a year of Colour Play
Mar 02, 2025March 2, 2025
Yesterday I officially launched Colour Play in Art, an experimental space on my website where, over the next twelve months, I'll share videos of my daily practice exploring and experimenting with colour. The video above is the recorded launch session during which I explained how the concept of Colour Play in Art began, how it has evolved and how I see it working on a weekly basis moving forward. For more information and to dip into the experience in a way that works for you, check it out here: Colour Play in Art
The videos included in the first week of Colour Play are focused on creating colour maps from my environment and applying the resulting colour palette to automatic drawings inspired by the sound and movement of the wind outside my window, and line drawings of a tangerine.
Next week's videos will be focused on playing The Colour Scheme Game using neutralized colours during my daily colour practice.
Spring will soon be here! I'm looking forward to painting and filming outdoors again as the plants emerge from the ground and the trees begin to bud.
Thank you for reading my blog.
